In the time I have worked as press for conventions, the Dallas Fan Days has been the best experience. It happened October 11th through the 13th, 2012.

Fan Days’ was a three day event which specializes and focuses on comic book artists, writers, publishers and special guests.  It is held annually in Irving, Texas and this year featured  guests  such as Stan Lee; Bruce Campbell (from Burn Notice; Army of Darkness); Sean Astin (from The Goonies), Robert Englund (from Nightmare on Elm Street); Felicia Day (from The Guild; Supernatural); and Eddie McClintock (from Warehouse 13). The staff did such an amazing job of bringing experience from all walks of geek together in a fun, exciting, and family friendly atmosphere. Other guests included from years past have been Leonard Nimoy (from Star Trek); Kevin Conroy (voice of batman in Batman: Arkham Asylum; Batman: Arkham City video games). As well as, Adam West and Burt Ward (both from the 1966 Batman TV Series).  It was like an over load of geek in the best way possible.

There were so many people in costumes ranging from Star Wars to comic book inspired ideas to fantasy orientated themes of cosplayers  to families in costumes. It was really a treat to meet all of your iconic names throughout Hollywood that we knew growing up as kids. There was plenty of time to get your geek on as far as buying comic books to taking pictures of yourself in the DeLorean (from the Back to the Future Series). I bought for myself a customized Hoverboard and a pair of customized 2015 shoes from the Back to the Future Part II movie. Whether you are a fan of movies, comics or just want to meet your  favorite stars, Fandays is the place to be to geek out and enjoy. We interviewed many stars during our time working with Lotus Comics Press and nothing competes on a level to the events that the Fandays convention puts on yearly. The same coordinators also host the Dallas Comic Con which is held yearly.

Dallas Comic Con starts May 17th through May 19th, 2013 and their next event which is the Sci-fi Expo is held on February 9th and 10th, 2013. Ben Stevens and Kathy Goolsby from Official Pix by C2 Ventures, and Mark Walters from reach out to the fans to put on a great event. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Overheard by fellow patrons at the convention was that this was the best experience they have had in ten years. Lotus Comics Press highly agrees! It was a real pleasure working with Fan Days because of the incredibly hospitable staff at Official Pix! We can’t wait until next year!
